Real humans, not holograms (yet)

4 years in, we're just beginning.

Metastage launched in 2018 with the goal of creating a platform for great XR content to come to life. We wanted our studio to feel exciting, approachable, and professional. And most important, we wanted to create a place where artists and performers felt inspired.

Our original mantra was “Smiley – Fun – Get the job done!” and for partners to feel that energy in a project from start to finish. Our team of domain experts from related fields began a journey we could never have imagined was ahead of us. 200+ productions later, we’ve worked with celebrities, athletes, and public figures to immortalize their likeness for showcasing on virtual platforms.

We’re proud to have navigated the pandemic without losing a single member of the original team. We established industry leading protocols and created a safe place for creators to execute visions during a time when there were few IRL avenues for expression. We’ve had projects nominated for Emmys, participated in many worlds’ firsts, but most importantly, our team has grown stronger with spirits and camaraderie just as high as the day we started.

The metaverse has become very buzzy in the past year, but the idea behind is something about which we are very passionate. After all, we named our company Metastage back in 2017! And while people may be debating what it is and where is going, Metastage is rooted in the belief that there need to be real people, with all their beautiful nuances, in this virtual future. And we want to work with similarly passionate teams to showcase real life’s awesomeness in glorious never before seen dimensions.

Our Team

Our team hails from all corners of virtual content technology and production.

From day one, our team ethos centered around collaboration, approaching every project with open-mindedness and boundary pushing energy. This approach has allowed us and our partners to break creative ground in the field, from live augmented reality concerts to interactive human holograms.
